Grounding on Volga-Caspian Sea Canal
The 'VF Tanker 7 'ran aground on the Volga-Caspian Sea Channel at kilometer mark 158 in the afternoon of Sep 3, 2021, LT, en route from Astrakhan to Baku. No hull damage and no leaks were reported. As there were clusters of cargo ships anchored south and north of the tanker, bound for Astrakhan and for southern Caspian sea ports, traffic seemed to be restricted in the area. As of Sep 6, the ship was still stuck in pos. 45 02 04N, 047 42 26E, about 45,3 nautical miles from Olya.
Explosion on tanker in Varna
On Apr 3, 2017, at 11 a.m. an explosion occurred on the "VF Tanker 7" at the shipyard Terem Flotski Arsenal during welding works in a ballast tank. The ship caught fire, suffered a leak and heeled to starboard. Immediately the fire department in Varna and police were alerted. The vessel was docked for maintenance and repair works on Apr 2. Tanker grounded in Kerch Strait
On Dec 24, 2016, at 11 p.m. the "VF Tanker 7" ran aground in the Kerch Strait in the buoys 5-6 area, while transiting the waterway in southern direction from the Azov Sea to the Black Sea. The tanker was refloated with the help of a tug and moored on port Kavkaz Anchorage for a survey. No leaks reported, the maximum draft for transiting the strait was reduced to 3,3 meters.
