Grounding in the Kerch Strait
The "Vladimir" ran aground on Dec 24, 2016, at 7.45 p.m. in the Kerch Strait in the buoys 5-6 area, while transiting the strait in southern direction from the Azov Sea to the Black Sea with a pilot on board. At 10.44 p.m. the tanker was refloated with the help of a tug. The ship was transiting the Strait fully loaded, with permissible draft. The ship was moored on Kavkaz Anchorage for a survey. No leaks reported, the maximum draft for transiting the waterway was reduced to 3,3 meters.
