Grounded yacht refloated

On Sep 13 at 8 p.m. the sailing yacht ‘Sueño’, without crew on board, stranded on the rocks of As Xubias. The Maritime Rescue Centre of A Coruña mobilised the 'Salvamar Betelgeuse', which refloated the boat and towed it to the Oza dock without any damage to the hull. Yacht towed to Marina Coruña

On Aug 4 at 9.09 p.m. the skipper of the sailing yacht 'Arminel II' reported that the engine had failed and that the ship was adrift due to a lack of wind 5.5 nautical miles from Cabo Prior/Ferrol. The 'Salvamar Betelgeuse' was tasked to assist and towed it to the Marina Coruña, where it was safely docked at 12.17 a.m. on Aug 5.

On June 4, 2024, the sailing yacht 'Windy' suffered a mechanical failure and was disabled and adrift in calm winds three nautical miles from Cabo Prior. The 'Salvamar Betelgeuse' was mobilized by the CCS Coruña to assist the sailboat, which was taken in tow along with its two crew members and safely pulled to the Marina Coruña.
