Medevac off Pointe de Penmarc'h

On Aug 29, 2022, a passenger needed to be medevaced from the 'Salamanca', en route from Portsmouth to Bilbao, 20 nautical miles west of Pointe de Penmarc'h for medical reasons. The man in his fifties was hoisted by a French Navy's Cayman helicopter and was taken to the Cavale Blanche hospital in Brest in Brest at 5:07 p.m.

Passenger injured in fall on board

A passenger on the 'Salamanca' was medevaced to Brest in the morning of July 10, 2022, by a Lanvéoc helicopter. Injured in the chest after a fall, a 29-year-old passenger was taken care aboard the ferry leaving Bilbao and heading for Portsmouth. The evacuation took place northwest of Ouessant. The young man was taken care of by the medical team and then hoisted onto the helicopter which landed shortly after 11 a.m. at the Brest naval base. The passenger was then taken to hospital.
