Tanker hit by Houthi drone

The 'Sai Baba' with 25 Indian crew members on board was hit by a one-way attack drone fired allegedly by Yemen's Houthi rebels in the Red Sea on Dec 23, 2023, at 10.30 a.m. IST. No injuries were reported. United States Naval Forces Central Command (CENTCOM) said two Houthi anti-ship ballistic missiles were fired into international shipping lanes in the Southern Red Sea from Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen on Dec 23. "At approximately 0800 hrs, Sanaa time, U.S. Naval Forces Central Command received reports from two ships in the Southern Red Sea that they were under attack." The USS 'Laboon' , responded to the distress calls from these vessels and also shot down four unmanned aerial drones originating from Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen that were targeted at it during its patrol operations in the Southern Red Sea.

Medevac of injured crew member

The US Coast Guard medevaced a crewmember from the 'Cap Guillaume' approximately 39 miles offshore Port Aransas, Texas, in the afternoon of May 6, 2020. Coast Guard Sector/Air Station Corpus Christi watchstanders received a request for medevac from the captain of the tanker for a crewmember who suffered an arm injury. Watchstanders consulted with the duty flight surgeon who recommended the medevac. A Sector/Air Station Corpus Christi MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew was launched to the scene and hoisted the injured crewmember from the vessel. The patient was transported to CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christ – Shoreline where he was reported to be in stable condition.
