Bulkcarrier out of control in Camp Bay

Wed Jul 20 09:27:24 CEST 2016 Timsen

The Port Authority of Gibraltar launched an investigation into the circumstances of a dangerous manoever of the "Bulk Trident" in the Camp Bay waters on July 16, 2016, which caused panic among people resting on the beach. The vessel, according to witnesses, was apparently out of control, and came dangerously close to beach. The Vessel Traffic Control of the port of Gibraltar noticed unusual movements of the vessel and ordered her to proceed in western direction, away from the beach, and anchor on Gibraltar roads. The bulkcarrier sailed from Gibraltar on July 17, bound for Nouakchott, ETA July 21.
