Ferry on its way back to the water

Mon Jan 07 18:49:04 CET 2019 Timsen

The "Sabuk Nusandtara" which had drifted ashore in Palu on Sep 29, 2018, due to tsunami triggered by a 7.5 magnitude quake and was swept about 70 meters from the pier was on its way back to the water. Salvage workers installed airbags under the ship on Jan 7, 2019. The shipping company was still waiting for a permit from the Indonesian Sea and Coast Guard to continue with its salvage operation in pulling the vessel towards the sea. Initial inspection showed that the vessel didn't suffer damages but will still be examined further at a shipyard.
