Ferry grounded at Pulau Laut

Mon Mar 03 11:49:14 CET 2025 Timsen

On Feb 16, 2025 , at 9 a.m. WITA the 'Sabuk Nusantara 110' ran aground after hitting a flat reef in the waters of Pulau Laut Port due to strong winds and low tide, while heading towards the Pulau Laut Port jetty, approximately 0.27 nautical miles from the port. The Pulau Laut Port authorities coordinated with the SAR team at 09:51 a..m. After an inspection, the vessel was found to be in good condition with no significant technical issues. The joint SAR team successfully evacuated four passengers using a rescue boat to Pulau Laut Port, while 13 other passengers remained on board. At 2:40 p.m. the sea conditions returned to normal, allowing the 'Sabuk Nusantara 110' to proceed safely to the Pulau Laut Port jetty, where the remaining passengers disembarked, once the vessel docked at the port. The vessel continued its voyage to Sedanau Port at 8 p.m. and arrived on Feb 17.
