Bulkcarrier under tow

A tug of ADK Trade & Shipping towed the “Bonthi II” to Male. The “Raadhafathi” took the disabled ship, which was carrying 4,000 tons of cargo, in tow with an ETA at the Thilafushi anchorage off Male as of Nov 10, 6 p.m. The incident was reported to the Maldives National Defense Force at 2 p.m. on Nov 6, and a team of divers from MNDF’s Coast Guard were dispatched to the area in the night. While the team reached the cargo ship the next morning, the vessel’s crew was reported in good health. The propeller sustained damages after getting caught in a rope 188 nautical miles from Kulhudhuffushi island. The suop salied from Male again on Nov 27. Freighter disabled off Malé

Officers of the Maledive Coast Guard have reached the 'Bonthi II', which was disabled near the Haa Alif atoll. They found the vessel's crew was in good health. The vessel had been en route from Tuticorin to Malé, when its propeller was caught in a rope' and damaged. The incident was reported to authorities on Nov 6, 2018. The vessel was stranded 188 miles from Kulhudhuffushi island.
