Container ship heavily damaged in allision

On April 10, 2019, the "Rumba" was heavily damaged upon its mooring manoever at the Strom Quay in Bremerhaven. After a generator failed, the ship became disabled during the turning manoever on the Weser when arriving in port from Hamburg around 11.45 a.m. The ship allided with its starboard side stern with the container quay. The stern was breached from the maindeck almost down to the waterline. The ship was no longer seaworthy and detained at the MSC Gate until emergency repairs have been carried out. No injuries were reported.
