Crew member fell over board

On Sep 11, 2024, at 7.15 p.m. an Indian crew member fell over board from the 'Rui Fu Sheng', which was anchored off the coast of the Şarköy district. The captain reported to the Coast Guard Command and Tekirdağ Regional Port Authority that Ganesh Govind was missing. He was last seen at 10:40 a.m. SAR operations were initiated by, the Şarköy Coast Guard Station Command and continued on Sep 12.

Fishing vessel sank after collision with tanker

The 'Atlantica Breeze' was in collision with a fishing vessel in vicinity 001 35 06 N, 104 21 05 E about 5,3 nautical miles east of Tanjung Lompat on Dec 16, 2022. The tanker alerted the Johor Bahru Maritime Rescue Sub Centre (MRSC) of the incident at 05.30 a.m. LT. Following an engine failure, the fishing vessel had started to drift and hit the tanker. The five crew members of Indonesian nationalaity jumped into the water and were rescued. They were assisted by the tanker and other fishing vessels in the area. Two of the fishermen had suffered minor injuries and were taken to the Tanjung Sedili Health Clinic for treatment, Two MMEA vessels were deployed to the scene and found out that a damage to the fishing vessel's engine, as well as the severe weather conditions in the area, had led to the incident, which caused the fishing vessel to experience a water ingress. The tanker moored on the Singapore South Anchorage in pos. 01° 13.52' N 103° 48.73' E on Dec 17 at 6.30 p.m., where it remained stationary as of Dec 19.
