Barge refloated

The "Rubiships XV", 2826 ts (EU-No.: 02325385), was finally refloated and berthed in Regensburg on March 13. She proceeded to Kelheim on the morning of March 14.

Barge still aground

The "Rubiships XV" remained stuck at the Danube shore near Winzen on March 1. The ship was loaded with 1.500 tons steel rolls and bound to Kelheim. It had got off the fairway to the right side and ran aground at a groyne. The Bulgarian owners were working on a solution. The wate rpolice and the river authorities supplied the crew. Passing traffic was not hampered as the ship was stuck outside the fairway.

Grounding on Danube

Mon Feb 26 09:35:59 CET 2018 Timsen

In the foremidday of Feb 25, 2018, the "Rubiships XV", 2826 ts (EU-No.: 02325385;) loaded with 1.515 tons steel pipes, ran aground on the Danube around 10 a.m. on the right river shore enroute from Passau to Kelheim. The master did not report the accident nor did he request a permission for refloating attempts. The ship has a draugth of 2,1 meters and was stuck with the port side bow outside the fairway. Other ships were allowed to pass the barge with slow speed and caution. On Feb 26 salvage options were to be negotiated by the relevant parties. An investigation was launched against the master.
