Gear trouble off Sveggen
In the afternoon of Sep 26, 2016, the "Ballstadøy" suffered propulsion trouble off Sveggen in Averøy. The lifeboat "Erik Bye" was called to assist and established a towing connection at 3.45 p.m. to the trawler which had a gear problem. Fishing vessel smashed into pier at Moskenes, sinking another f/v
In the afternoon of Apr 3, 2015, the "Ballstadøy" ran into a floating pier in Moskenesvågen, Splitting it in two, and hitting two fishing vessels which were moored at the Pier. Both suffered major damage. One boat, the "Havterna" owned by Jørgen Sagli and having a length of 11 meters, suffered a large leak and sank soon after, the other was towed away to a fish farm and moored. The rescue vessel "Det Norske Veritas" was on site. The accident was caused by a technical error aboard the "Ballstadøy" which was escorted to Ballstad by the "Det Norkse Veritas" after the accident to be baptized there.
