Barge ran aground off Eemshaven
On Dec 24, 2015, the "Mira Cedenatho" ran aground on the Ems. The ship was enroute from Eemshaven to Delfzijl to unload a cargo of stones and got stuck at the height of the power plant Eemshaven. The barge had got out of the fairway and thus was not hampering ship traffic. Rijkswaterstaat initially sent a police boat and the tugs "Gruno 4" and "Gruno 5", but as the tide was receding, it was impossible to refloat the barge for the time being. On Dec 25 the tugs "Watergeus", "Waterlines" and "Waterman" successfully pulled the "Mira Cedenatho" to the KZ & RV Neptunus Marina in Eemshaven.
