Traffic start of RÖMÖEXPRESS delayed by eight days
Rømø-Sylt Linie’s new RÖMÖEXPRESS (former TRESFJORD of Fjord1) arrived at Havneby in the evening of 4 November from her shipyard spell in Tallinn, where she had been prepared for her new role in the traffic between List on the island of Sylt and Havneby on Rømø.
Ferry suffered technical trouble
On Nov 4, 2019, at 9 p.m. the ‘RömöExpress‘ entered the port of Havneby upon Rømø. The ship was called to offer a service between Havneby and List upon Sylt which had been due to start on Nov 5 while the train traffic with car transport to Sylt was hampered by construction works. But the ship encountered technical trouble during the transit from Tallinn to Denmark so this had to be postponed leaving the ‘Sylt Express‘ the only ferry between the two ports until Nov 8 as the repair works to the engine was much more than expected. After the completion the ship was surveyed by Danish inspectors and left the port on Nov 10 at 1.40 p.m. and started its service to List upon Sylt where it berthed for the first time at 2.20 p.m. and started its schedule between the two islands.
