Ship overloaded in Brunsbüttel
In the night of Feb 20, 2018, the "Right Step" was detained in Brunsbüttel due to considerable overload by the professional association for transport and transport industry. At 11.50 p.m. Brunsbüttel officials inspected the ship in the New Northern Lock. The police found a freeboard lower than 10 centimeters and an overload of 146 tons. Aboard the ship, which was oenroute from Hamburg to Abenraa, the officers found around 5,300 tonnes of rubble and contaminated soil. The master had to pay a security deposit amounting to 1,700 Euros, and a sailing ban was issued. The ship left Brunsbüttel again in the night of Feb 21 and berthed at the Chicago Quay in Hamburg on Feb 22 at 2.20 a.m. to unload the excess cargo. The ship left the port of Hamburg after the draught was corrected on Feb 27 at 9.15 p.m. and headed to Apenrade, ETA Feb 28, 5 p.m.
Fight on board of m/v Don 2, one crew hospitalized, one arrested, vessel detained, Greece
In the morning Dec 19 captain of general cargo vessel Don 2 requested medevac of an injured 24-years old crew member. Helicopter airlifted the injured sailor and took him to hospital. Vessel en route from Spain to Izmir Turkey was diverted to Kalamat, Greece, and late at night Dec 19 or early in the morning Dec 20 was berthed in Kalamat for investigation. it is understood, that there was a fight on board.
