Wolfrose pulled off

Wed Nov 09 09:33:59 CET 2011 Timsen

The "Wolfrose" could be pulled off the gravel bar on the Danube at Mühlham near Osterhofen late on Nov 8 after 350 tons of soybean meal were lightered onto another ship by a dredger. The "Wolfrose" was surveyed by divers especially regarding possible rudder damage before it was allowed to continue its way to Austria with own power. Salvage of Wolfrose underway

Tue Nov 08 12:00:31 CET 2011 Timsen

Lightering of the "Wolfrose" has commenced on Nov 8, 2011. The Danube was closed between Vilshofen and Deggendorf for this purpose. It was hoped to refloat the vessel after lightering of the 811 tons soybean meal.

Dabube temporarily closed for ship traffic after grounding

Mon Nov 07 09:48:53 CET 2011 Timsen

In the early evening of Nov 5, 2011, the "Wolfrose“ ran aground on the left shore of the Danube near Osterhofen. The ship carried 811 tons soy from Nürnberg to Enns, Austria, when it got stuck on a gravel bar due to a navigational error of the Serbian master. The ploce Deggendorf was on scene, and the river was closed between Deggendorf and Vilshofen during the night. After the river authority had carried out soundings of the bottom in the morning of Nov 6, ship traffic was resumed. The "Wolfrose" presumably will have to be lightered due to the low water level on the river.
