Medevac off Medemblik

Thu Jul 14 11:30:37 CEST 2022 Timsen

On July 12, 2022, at aroudn 4 p.m. the KNRM Andijk and KNRM Medemblik were mobilized for a medical evacuation from the 'Rhein Prinzessin' on the IJsselmeer. The lifeboats ''t Span' from Andijk and 'Bernardine' from Medemblik proceeded to the ship's position with an ambulance crew on board the latter. The patient's condition was such that it was not possible to wait for the ship to reach the port of Medemblik. The ''t Span' arrived quickly on scene for the first aid. The 'Bernardine' followed not much later with the ambulance personnel. Given the patient's condition, he had to be quickly disembarked and taken to a hospital for further treatment. Grounding on the Rhine

Wed Apr 11 08:38:11 CEST 2018 Timsen

In the night of Apr 9, 2018, the "Rhein Prinzessin", shortly after having sailed from Strasbourg at 9.40 p.m., ran aground on the Rhine at Rastatt. The ship with 148 passengers on board got stuck with the bow. The French fire rescue disembarked the passengers safely and dropped them off on the German river side. Ship traffic on the Rhine was not affected. In the early afternoon of Apr 10 the cruise ship refloated without assistance and berthed in Beinheim for investigations, before proceeding to Mannheim where she arrived on Apr 11 at 1.30 a.m.
