Collision on the Amazon
The "Eden Bay" was in collision with the "Mazury" in the early morning of Oct 11, 2017, in Curuá-Fazendinhin Canal at Macapá on the Amazon River. The wheat loaden "Eden Bay" was waiting for permission to anchor at the time of the accident, the fertilizer loaded "Mazury" was already moored when the British bulkcarrier was caught by currents and drifted against her. Both vessels were underway on the Amazon en route to Manaus and had pilots on board. The "Mazury" suffered dents at the superstructure and hull and breaches at the portside stern damages, the "Eden Bay" suffered dents and breaches at the bow above the waterline. On Oct 12, both vessels were anchored off Santana/Macapá.
