Engine trouble in the Northsea
The "Samba", enroute from Tananger to Rotterdam, sustained engine problems in pos. 54 12.6 N 04 46 21.3 E on March 19, 2018, at 6.20 p.m.. The vessel was taken in tow by the Malta flagged tug "Amber II" (IMO: 9425423) on March 20. The ship was towed into the port of Rotterdam on March 21 at 8 p.m., where further assistance was rendered by the tugs "Rotterdam" "Smart Barge", "Smit Schelde" and "Smit Seine" with the patrol boat "RPA 15" in attendance. She left port again on March 26 at 2 a.m., being bound to Maloy, ETA March 28.
Repairs in Cuxhaven completed
Repairs of the "Samba", which had run aground enroute from Aalesund to Husnes between Hovden and Gåsøy in Bremanger on Dec 8, 2014, at the Mützelfeldt Yard in Cuxhaven were completed on Jan 27 after 20 days. The ship shifted to the America Port at 6 p.m. and finally left the port on Jan 28 at 6 a.m. bound for Rotterdam as next port of call, ETA 5 p.m.
Grounding south of Kalvåg
Enroute from Aalesund to Husnes the "Samba" ran onto a shallow between Hovden and Gåsøy in Bremanger on Dec 8, 2014. The lifeboat “Halfdan Grieg” and a tug went to assist the ship which was stuck south of Kalvåg with a crew of 16 on board and had suffered water ingress in the foreship which was quickly under control. The ship was, however, able to pull off with own means and headed to Florø where it berthed at 10.20 p.m. The ship left the Fjord Base in Florø on Dec 11 at 12.50 a.m. again and headed for Rotterdam with an ETA of Dec 13, 4 p.m.
