Container ship ran aground
On Nov 13, 2019, the 'Concordia' lost control and ran aground with a speed of 15 knots north of Eiksund at Laupsneset on Hareidlandet in the Vartdalsfjord. There was no water ingress, no pollution and no injury reported, but obviously some bow damage. The vessel was enroute from Måløy to Ikornnes in Sykkylven when it got stuck on rocks in pos. 62° 17.00' N 005° 57.14' E. At 6 p.m. the SAR boat 'Klaveness Marine' (MMSI: 257928800) and the tug 'Polar Rex' (IMO: 7392816) were on site. A salvage attempt was to be undertaken with the rising tide at 8 p.m. The tug pulled the 'Concordia' smoothly off. Both ships were heading towards Ålesund with slow speed, where the 'Concordia' arrived short before midnight. The police launched an investigation. The vessel left the port of Ålesund again on Nov 15 at 4.20 a.m. and headed to Bergen with an ETA as of 4 p.m. the same day. The ship entered the Blohm & Voss Shipyard in Hamburg on Jan 24, 2020, at 3.40 p.m. The vessel has now been renamed 'Rainer D'. It left Hamburg on Feb 8. Crabe boom fell on ship
During loading operations at the "Victoria", a port crane failed in the port of Orkanger in the morning of Sep 20, 2018, and the crane boom fell down and hit the edge of the ship's loading bay at dock 2. The work had starwted in the night, and the accident occurred at 06.11 a.m. hen the loading of the ship started. The crane operator was lowering a container down on the ship. The container was about two meters above the cargo space when the crane boom collapsed. The container weighed about 30 tons, and the crane boom weighs around 30 tonnes too. Medevac at Hoek van Holland
On Dec 24, 2014, at 3:15 a crew member of the "Concordia" fell from stairs and suffered several serious fractures. The KNRM radio medical service ordered the ship to turn to Hoek van Holland and tasked the lifeboat "Jeanine Parqui" with a medevac. The boat was on Scene at 3.45 p.m., and and two crewmembers were transferred onto the Container ship with first aid bag. The victim had a head wound, broken knee and a fractured elbow. The "Concordia" was directed to the Calantsteiger 3, where an ambulance with paramedics was ready. KNRM personnel accompanied the nurses on board the ship and assisted along with members of the RPA to disembark the Patient.
