Detention in Flensburg
After the arrival in Flensburg from Ust- Luga with a coal carrying barge on Jan 11, 2025, the 'Raduga Lyon' was detained as the result of a PSC due to serious shortcomings in the sewage system and lack of documentation. The technical officer ws accused of having pumped untreated waste water into the Baltic Sea. The captain and the ship's officers had to pay a safety fine of 1600 Euro. After repairs, the ship was released and left the port again on Jan 15.
Barge lost by Raduga Europe a CTL
The Danish barge 'Trias', 4744 gt (IMO: 8606018), has been signed off as total loss, and was to be demolished. The barge was being towed by 'Raduga Europe' on Dec 31, 2019, when the tow line broke, resulting in hull damages to the tug, while the barge drifted ashore and remained stuck until Jan 19.
Barge lost by tug refloated
Alfons Håkans has successfully refloated the Danish barge 'Trias', 4744 gt (IMO: 8606018), which broke lose from the 'Raduga Europe' on Dec 31, 2019, in the late evening of Jan 19, 2020. The barge had got stuck in a protected Natura 2000 area near Ventspils. The preparations for zjr salvage, led by Salvage Master Pekka Arasola, jsf started on Jan 5 after Alfons Håkans was contracted to refloat the barge. The tugs 'Thor' and 'Poseidon' were mobilized for this task. Heavy swell and strong winds slowed down the process. A afe salvage carried out with minimal environmental impact was our utmost priority. The barge was not damaged during the process neither did it cause any environmental threats. The barge was towed to Riga to be handed back to her owners.
