Bulkcarrier crew stranded in Inchgreen

Tue Oct 23 13:51:12 CEST 2012 Timsen

The crew of the "Mariolina de Carlini" is stranded in Greenock after their vessel was impounded by authoritieson Aug 2, 2012. The ship is docked in Inchgreen Dry Dock. Upon arrival at Clydeport-owned Inchgreen, the vessel has been served with a civil arrest warrant. There was a period when the crew was not paid. Charity organisation 'The Apostleship of the Seas' have attended to try and keep crew morale up and to help their spiritual welfare. Both Clydeport and the local community have rallied round to help the crew. It was hoped the overall situation will be resolved by the end of October allowing them to sail south again.
