Medevac off Huelva
On Dec 3, 2022, the 'R.C. Behar', en route from Algeciras to Huelva, requested the urgent evacuation of crew member who was unwell. The JCRR of Salvamento Maritimo in Huelva mobilized the SAR boat 'Salvamer Alkaid' which medevaced the patient and took him to the port, where an ambulance was waiting for the further transport to a hospital.
Tanker spotted migrant swimming to Spain
On Aug 29, 2022, the 'RC Behar', en route from Carteya Guadarranque to Huelva, spotted a person of North African origin swimming towards Spain with a lifebuoy. The crew notified Salvamento Marítimo, which mobilized the SAR vessel 'Salvamar Arcturus' and the SAR helicopter Helimer 222. The person was located 2m5 miles from Punta del Acebucheand was taken aboard the SAR boat and taken to Algeciras.
