Grounding on the Danube
The "Quadro", 936 ts (EU-No.: 04032420), ran aground on the Danube on Aug 24, 2017, between river km 2305 and 2310, enroute from Deggendorf to Straubing underneath of Pfelling short time after having passed Bogen. The ship was loaded with 550 tons steel and had a cargo of 550 tons steel on board. It suffered a technical malfunction and subsequent rudder failure so that it veered to starboard and got stock on a rock. Another ship was called from Passau to refloat the barge. Ship traffic was hampered at the accident site. After the rudder damage was fixed, the ship could be refloated on Aug 25 and was in Straubing on Aug 26.
