Ferry delayed due to leaking hydraulic hose

Tue Aug 20 21:09:50 CEST 2019 Timsen

The scheduled departure of the "Prinsesse Isabella" from Samsø on Aug 20 at 8.15 a.m. had to be cancelled due to a leak which occurred on one of the large hydraulic hoses. In order to repair the damage, a technician was called. After the ferry finally sailed from Samsø with all four engines on, she rushed to Hou with an arrival time as of 10.30 a.m. The scheduled departure at 10.45 has been changed to 11.20 p.m. Delays were reduced in the run of the day and at 4.10 p.m. the Samsø Rederi announced that the ferry was back on schedule.

Ferry suffered technical trouble

Fri Aug 09 18:39:04 CEST 2019 Timsen

In the morning of Aug 9, 2019, the crew of the "Prinseesse Isabella" had trouble starting the ship as the monitoring system did not work properly. After the trouble was fixed, the ferry sailed with delay. To make up for the delay the ship sail on all four engines with a crossing time of 50 minutes. The departure from Hou at 7 a.m. started at 7:50 a.m., the departureat 08.15 from Sælvig started at 08:50 a.m. At noon the ferry was sailing on schedule agani. A mechanic was expected on board in the night to replace the broken communication box.

Cars pushed against ceiling

Thu Jul 11 23:10:41 CEST 2019 Timsen

In the afternoon of July 7, 2019, seven cars with their drivers were mistakenly raised against the ceiling on board the "Prinsesse Isabella", shortly after the ferry had arrived at Sælvig. None of the passengers were injured by the accident, but several cars were damaged. The ferry was being emptied of cars when the accident occurred. Seven cars on the hanging deck were, by a human error, pushed further up against the deck's ceiling instead of down towards the ferry deck. All the affected passengers were subsequently treated, and the cars were checked by mechanics to determine the damage. The passengers had the opportunity for free psychological assistance. The authorities have reviewed the incident, and the Danish Maritime Authority has given the company permission to continue to use the suspension deck on the ferry, as it was a human failure.
