Cars pushed against ceiling
In the afternoon of July 7, 2019, seven cars with their drivers were mistakenly raised against the ceiling on board the "Prinsesse Isabella", shortly after the ferry had arrived at Sælvig. None of the passengers were injured by the accident, but several cars were damaged. The ferry was being emptied of cars when the accident occurred. Seven cars on the hanging deck were, by a human error, pushed further up against the deck's ceiling instead of down towards the ferry deck. All the affected passengers were subsequently treated, and the cars were checked by mechanics to determine the damage. The passengers had the opportunity for free psychological assistance. The authorities have reviewed the incident, and the Danish Maritime Authority has given the company permission to continue to use the suspension deck on the ferry, as it was a human failure.
