Medevac off Rotterdam
On Feb 9 at 2.15 p.m. the KNRM was requested to pick up a patient from the 'Princess'. The ship had just sailed offshore in a westerly direction when he was injured in an accident on board. The offshore vessel which had sailed from Rotterdam at 11.45 a.m. headed towards the Dutch coast for a medevac. In the meantime, in view of the weather conditions with wind force of about 8-9 Beaufort, it was decided to medevac the patient in the Waterweg. In its calmer waters, the man was smoothly transferred onto the lifeboat 'Jeanine Parqui' (MMSI: 246333000) which had been deployed from its station in Rotterdam. Upon returning to the Berghaven in Rotterdam at around 2.45 p.m., the patient was transported to the hospital by an attending ambulance. The offshore vessel has been moored at RTM Anchorage N in pos. 52° 6.51' N 003° 53.10' E on Jan 10.
