Engine failure in Dardanelles
The "Ibrahim Bey" suffered engine failure on July 3, 2016, around 11 a.m. in the Dardanelles, while proceeding in northern direction after having from Izmir to Galati on July 2. The master reported the damage to the Turkish Department of Vessel Traffic Services (VTS). The bulkcarrier was taken to the Nara Burnu anchorage north of Canakkale to rectify the problem, ETA at Galati being July 6.
Bulkcarrier disabled in Mediterranean Sea
The "Ibrahim Bey" was disabled on May 6, 2015, at 1 p.m. in position 36 25N 028 20E, southeast of Rhodes. The vessel was enroute from Damietta to Istanbul. In the run of May 5 she was anchored on Rhodes roads and then proceeded in southeastern direction.
Grounding off Venice
The "Ibrahim Bey" ran aground at the entrance of Choiggia port in the Venice area on Feb 9, 2015, while leaving the port. Several attempts to refloat vessel with the help of tugs failed. At 5 a.m. UTC on Feb 11 the vessel was still aground. It sailed from Venice Commercial Terminals on Feb 16 around 5 p.m., bound to Tenes, ETA Feb 23.
