Fire off Ukrainian coast
On Feb 12, 2021, a fire broke out aboard the 'Prince 4' off the Ukrainian coast. The ship, which was loaded with 11,500 tons of grain, had left Nikolayev at 04.50 a.m. enroute to Yemen when the fire broke out understood at portside the stern region and later spread to the upper deck. Tugs responded at 6.30 p.m. and started firefighting. The 19 crew members, ncluding Syrian and Indian nationalities, remained on board and assisted in firefighting. The ship was taken in tow towards Ochakov.
Engine failure in Gemlik
The "Prince 4" suffered a failure of the auxiliary machinery and pertinent systems on Dec 17, 2018, in Gemlik. The vessel's departure permission has been cancelled by the harbour master until the completion of permanent repairs. The state surveyor was to attend on board in order to verify the final repair status. Repairs were being carried out by the crew, and the ship remained stationary at the Roda Liman Container Terminal by Dec 19. On Dec 21 at 10 p.m. the vessel left Gemlik bound to Yalova.
