Damaged motor boat and crew rescued
On Nov 5, 2022, a motorboat collided with an underwater obstacle off Stralsund. The 300 hp outboard engine ripped off. The boat immediately took water. The 'prignitz' and the lifeboat 'Hertha JEep' from the Stralsund station of the DGzRS brought the distressed ship and the two crew members safely to shore. At first they managed to keep the water ingress under control with their own bilge pump. However, the engine that had been torn off was still hanging from the supply lines underneath the ship. The "Prignitz" was first on site and secured the distressed vessel. The lifeboat then took on board the two crew members and first made sure that both were safe. With combined forces, the sea rescuers and the crew of the "Prignitz" then managed to secure the outboard engine. With the crane of the police ship, it was placed on the distressed boat. An escape of pollutants could thus be prevented. The 'MV 13' of the Stralsund water police closed the port of Altefaehr as a precaution to enable the boat to enter safely.
