PRESQUE ISLE 7303877
The "Presque Isle" was caught in an ice jam near Lighthouse Beach on Mar 21, 2010, about 9 a.m. Three vessels have been working to free the ship, the Canadian Coast Guard ice breaker "Griffin", the U.S. Coast Guard ice breaker "Bristol Bay" and the tug "Salvor". They were still working on getting the Presque Isle free as of 11:15 a.m. The wind was causing a factor in their efforts as it blew the ship out of the channel. It was expected to have the "Presque Isle" freed soon.
