Allision in Ceuta
On Dec 4, 2016, at 7.30 a.m. the "FT Foce" struck the stern of the moored LPG tanker "Happy Eagle" which was berthed at the Alfau Wharf in Ceuta while maneuvering as she was leaving the port. The "FT Foce" got out of control after an engine failure. The ships remained hooked together until initial investigations showed that there was no serious damage. The "FT Foce" suffered bow damages, whereas the starboard hull of the "Happy Eagle" suffered dents and damaged railings. Work then began to separate the vessels, while members of the classification societies of both ships started investigating the exact amount of damage. In the night from Feb 25 to Feb 26, 2015, the "Happy Eagle", enroute from Moerdijk to Rotterdam, allided with both the old and the new Botlek Bridge at the Maasvlakte in Rotterdam. The ship hit the old lift with the bow, and while attempting to turn around the stern smashed into the new bridge. The ship was damaged, towed away by two tugs and berthed at Damen Shiprepair Rotterdam at 5.15 a.m. The patrol boat "P 4" was on site in the Eemport Pernis. After the allision, heavy trucks had to make a detour via the diversion routes N57, N59 and the A29. The A15 towards Europoort was not closed, only the exit to the Botlek Bridge. Ship traffic at the old Botlekbrug was shut down, and ships had to circumnavigate via the New Maas. Repairs to the old bridge were completed at 12.45.
