Medevac in Medemblik
On June 27, 2022, at 7.30 p.m. the KNRM stations Medemblik and KNRM Andijk were alerted by the Dutch Coast Guard for a medical emergency on board the 'Poseidon', en route to Medemblik. On board the ship, the first aid to the victim had already been started by the crew and fellow passengers. The crew of the lifeboat 'Bernardine' was quickly on site and took over the emergency services. The rescue stations Wijdenes and Andijk were simultaneously conducting a multidisciplinary exercise off the coast of Enkhuizen when they heard the report via VHF radio. They also were quickly on site and offered support to the passengers who were already on board the passenger ship which was moored at the Veerkade in Medemblik. In collaboration with the volunteers of the KNRM stations mentioned and the police, the victim was handed over to the ambulance staff.
