Navigator medevac for suspected coronavirus infection

Fri May 08 19:25:38 CEST 2020 Timsen

A 27-year-old crew member of Hindu origin was medevaced from the 'Aegiali' on suspicion of a Covid 19 infection on May 7, 2020. The navigator of the ship suffered from fever, headache and dry cough. The Coast Guard carried out the medical evacuation of the man approximately 6.61 nautical miles from the port of Veracruz. It coordinated with the International Health and the Captaincy of the Regional Port of Veracruz, to carry out the medevac and ordered the immediate departure of the patrol boat 'Suhail (PI-1132)', with personnel from Naval Health and the Naval Search, Rescue and Maritime Surveillance Station (ENSAR-Veracruz), taking with them specialized equipment to carry out the medical evacuation of people suspected of being infected by the virus SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19). The man was ospitalized in Veracruz. Report with photo: https://www.eldictamen.mx/veracruz/boca-ver/marina-traslada-a-tripulante-de-buque-por-sospecha-de-covid-2/
