Bulbous bow crushed on rocks
The "Porsøy" ran aground in the Raft Sound in the night of OCt 2, 2011. The "Porsøy" was sailing northbound towards Bø, when it crashed onto rocks in Braksetholmen south of Brakøya at 12.30 a.m., just after having passed Digermulen on the north side. The bulb bow was completely deformed and the front ballast tank was torn up causing water leakage in the ballast tank. After the damage was surveyed, the vessel continued to Steinesjøen for discharge in order to lighten the ship so much as possible. When 300 tons of frozen fish were discharged, a diver was sent down to document the extent of damage. The ship was banned from sailing.
