Main-Danube-Canal blocked after lock allision
The "Pontes", 1261 ts (EU-No.: 2314047) allided with the upper gate of the lock Eckersmühlen on the Main-Danube-Canal on Jan 23 at 8.45 p.m. The 40-ton-gate was severely damaged and ship traffic had to be interrupted until the gate had to be exchanged by a spare gate which had to be sent from Riedenburg by ship first, probably on Jan 26. The unloaded ship had left the lock before the gate was completely opened. The ship was allowed to proceed to Regensburg after surveys.
