Trawler listed after cargo shift
In the afternoon of June 18, 2016, the "Gitte Henning" started listing to starboard due to a cargo shift seven miles south of Lindesnes lighthouse. At 2.21 p.m. the ship radioed a Mayday call to the JRCC South Norway after a blackout had caused a full power outage. The ship with a crew of eight on board was listing 25 degress. The rescue vessel "Ægir" from Farsund and the tug "BB Connector" from Kristiansand were sent to the spot. Two civilian vessels went on standby until the rescue boat arrived and started dewatering the vessel. The crew corrected the list by moving cargo onto the port side. At 4.27 p.m. they had managed to start the engines again, and the trawler headed back to Denmark, so all resources were demobilized.
