The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency foiled an attempt by 7 pirates to rob the "Front Queen" 2.8 nautical miles off Pulau Mungging in Pengerang on Mar 9, 2011. They were patrolling in 2 high-speed boats when they heard the emergency alarm from the "Front Queen" at 3.15 a.m. The boats spotted a wooden boat near the vessel, while several men on board the boat were throwing plastic packages and two bamboo sticks into the sea, possibly evidence. Investigations showed that one of the pirates armed with a parang managed to get into the vessel earlier and chased after a crew member to prevent him from alerting anyone else. But he managed to escape and alerted the officer-in-charge, who then sounded the alarm. The enforcement team seized a bayonet, an axe and several spanners which were believed to be tools used by the pirates during robberies. The pirates were detained in Johor.
