Pilot boat damaged in allision
coming from Gibraltar, the Antigua-Barbuda flagged roro carrier "Parida" was in allision with the "Kapitän Stoewahse" at the Brunsbüttel locks of the Kiel Canal on Mar 31, 2015, at 2.45 a.m. The ship had been about to enter the small foreport with pilot assistance when a storm gust from NW caught the ship and pushed it to starboard. The tender which was moored at the quay of the foreport suffered damage at the starboard side superstructure. It broke lose from the moorings and drifted through the port before being secured by a Bugsier tug. The crew of two remained uninjured. The "Parida" suffered damage at the bulbous bow and the foreship underneath the anchor at starboard side and was detained at the railway station pilings in the inner port of Brunsbüttel for surveys before continuing to Kiel at 4 a.m., the pilot boat remained at the South Quay in Brunsbüttel.
