Pieter Senior is getting lightered
The "Pieter Senior", 2854 ts (EU-No.: 02324902), which was stuck near Trechtingshausen im the Mainz-Bingen Community with 2800 tons gravel, refloated around 7 p.m, after part of the cargo was lightered by a company from Mainz since around 1 p.m. on July 29, 2011. The ship had developed a list and was in danger of sinking. The "Glarus" was sent to the grounding site to secure the casualty.
Pieter stuck on Rhine
The "Pieter SR" ran aground on July 28 at 8.30 p.m. on the Rhine, coing from Duisburg, underneath the Morgenbach. The pilot in vaid tried to refloat the vessel for some time. At 10.30 p.m. the boat of the fire brigade Bingen was sent to the grounding site.
