Tanker grounded and refloated

Wed Nov 23 09:22:09 CET 2011 Timsen

The "Alfa Italia" ran aground in the morning of Nov 23, 2011, on the Wester Scheldt at Nauw van Bath at low tide, being underway from Hound Point to Antwerp. Alarm was raised at 5.45 p.m. The tugs "Union Jade", "Union Hawk", "Union Kodak", "Lieven Gevaert" and "Multratug 17" were soon on scene and were able to refloat the "Alfa Italia". The ship then was anchored at the Dutch-Belgian boarder.
