Till emergency anchored in Bosphorus

On Feb 24, 2014, at 08:02 a.m. the "Till" suffered an engein breakdown in the Bosphorus and went adrift. The Istanbul Vessel Traffic Service dispatched the tgs "Kurtarma 5" and "Kurtarma 7" as well as the lifeboat "Kıyı Emniyeti 4". In spite of an emergency anchroing the vessel with a crew of six on board continued to drift towards land untiul being securedby the rescue forces off Ahırkapı. The unloaded "Till" had sailed from Varna on Feb 22 and was bound for Aliaga with an ETA of Feb 25. Till caused oil spill in Luebeck

On July 26, 2011, the "Till" lost some oil in the Burgtor Harbour at Lübeck. Witnesses remarked the smell of oil and traces on the surface of the water and alarmed the water police Lübeck-Travemünde. An oil field of 800 x 100 m was found and the source traced to be the "Till" which is currently laid up at the quay of the former LMG-yard. The company Feldmann and the fire brigade Lübeck removed the ooil, the police started investigations.
