The accident happened in Harburg in the morning of Ded 11, 2014. Both the "Ursus" and the bridge were damaged, vehicle traffic on the freeway A1 was significantly hampered. The tug master had misjudged the height of the building. On Dec 12 the bridge was inspected, and the Southern Elbe was barred for ship traffic between 7 and 10 a.m. The construction was found damaged on a length of 15 meters and needed extensive repairs, causing traffic disruptions in the southern direction.
