Barge took in water

Wed Dec 18 09:31:05 CET 2013 Timsen

On Dec 17, 2013, at approximately 12:17 p.m., a communication watchstander at Coast Guard Sector New York received notification from the "Patricia" that the barge it’s pushing was taking on water. A rescue boat crew from Coast Guard Station New York, the Coast Guard Cutter "Hawser" and the New York Police Department’s Harbor unit conducted dewatering operations and escorted the vessel to Claremont, New Jersey. The barge was carrying 400 tons of recycled plastic. There were no reports of pollution from the barge.
