Allision off Pyeongtaek

On Jan 31, 2018, at 12.55 p.m. the "Passat" wwhile shifting towards the local pilot station, was in allision with the product tanker "New Confidence", on the Pyeongtaek outer anchorage. The latter was moored at Daesan No. 2, inbound waiting anchorage in Daesan. The "New Confidence" sustained damage to its port side hull plating near the fore peak tank, while the "Passat" sustained damage to its starboard side hull and deck plating. No crew injuries, cargo damage or oil pollution were reported. The vessels were being surveyed by the Coast Guard and various surveyors. The "Passat" had on board 40,935 tons LPG and a crew of 24 of Latvian/Romanian/Polish/Indian/Russian/British nationalities. The ship arrived at Incheon on Feb 6 for permanent repairs which were finished on Feb 23, when the ship sailed for Daesan.
