Ship stuck in Pohang due to lack of bunker
The "Partizan" was stuck in Pohang with engine and generators cut off because of a lack of fuel after the Pohang bunker company refused to bunker the ship, fearing probable repercussions, because the ship and her owner were blacklisted by the United States Department of the Treasury for illegal trade with North Korea. The master filed a sea protest. The crew left the ship and was accommodated in a hotel. The "Partizan" sailed from Pohang again on March 18 at 5.30 a.m.
Exposion holed hull
The "Partizan" suffered explosion in the forecastle area, followed by a fire, on Feb 25, 2019, while en route from Nakhodka to Pohang with a cargo of scrap, in the Japan Sea. Due to explosion it sustained two holes in the bow measuring 40 cm x 15 cm & 30 cm x 45 cm about six metres above the waterline. The fire was extinguished by the crew of 13. The ship continued its voyage without external assistance required. An investigation was to be carried out after the arrival in Pohang, ETA Feb 26, 3 p.m.
