Tanker still detained after accident
The "FOS Hamitlon" which suffered damage to its port side aft while mooring in the port of Novorossiysk on June 22, 2019, and which was detained under warrant by Novorossiysk courts as of June 28, remained stationary in port on Aug 9. After the accident a survey of the foundations of berth No.1A at the jetty was conducted by divers on June 2019.
Vessel detained after allision with berth
It was reported on Jun 28, that the Marshall Islands flagged product tanker FOS Hamilton, which allided with berth No.1A at the port of Novorossiysk on Jun 22, had been placed under arrest and is now anchored on Novorossiysk Roads. A representative of the Russian oil company Transneft reported that, the vessel had been detained under a warrant by the Novorossiysk courts and a survey of the foundations of berth No.1A is being conducted by divers. According the port authorities, the berth is currently only available for limited loading operations.
Allision in Novorossiyisk
The "FOS Hamilton" allided with a pier at the Novorossiysk Oil Terminal during mooring operations on June 22, 2019. The tanker sustained portside stern damage, but the hull was not breached. The wharf suffered damage too. The tanker moved to an anchorage in the afternoon and moored in pos. 44° 34.66' N 037° 54.58' E. Cargo operations were suspended, a damage assessment was under way. On June 24 the ship remained stationary off Novorossiysk.
