Medevac off San Francisco
A Coast Guard boatcrew and the Southern Marine Fire Department medevaced a sailor aboard the "Overseas Boston" approximately eight miles west of San Francisco in the morning of Nov 10. 2014. At approximately 8 a.m., members from the Coast Guard Sector San Francisco Command Center received a request for medical assistance for a 52-year-old man suffering from chest pains aboard the tanker. After evaluating the man's condition and weather conditions on scene, Coast Guard Station Golden Gate launched a 47-foot Motor Lifeboat boatcrew with two paramedics from the Southern Marin Fire Department aboard. Once on scene, the patient was transferred from the Overseas Boston to Station Golden Gate's motor lifeboat and then transported to emergency medical services in Sausalito.
