Medevac off Richards Bay

On May 11 at 08.09 a.m. the NSRI Richards Bay launched the sea rescue craft "Spirit of Richards Bay" accompanied by a Netcare 911 paramedic to medevac a 29 year old Filipino sailor, suffering from suspected appendicitis, off the "Houston", sailing from Baltimore to India. Nine miles off-shore, the Patient was transferred onto the sea rescue craft and brought to shore. He was transported to hospital in a stable condition by a Netcare 911 ambulance.
