Engine breakdown in Melbourne
On June 25, 2024, at 9.15 a.m. the 'Oslo Trader' broke down short time after departing the East Swanson Dock in Melbourne while entering the River Yarra. Two tugs, which were still assisting, were able to assist the Port Phillip Sea Pilot to safely re-berth the vessel at East Swanson at 09.50 a.m. After repairs of the main engine failure, the ship sailed from Melbourne on June 26 at 6.45 a.m, next headed to Auckland with an ETA as of July 2. The AMSA has not detained the vessel, but investigations into the cause of the engine failure were still underway.
